There are lots of expensive gastronomic restaurants in and around the famous village of St Paul de Vence. Probably the most famous that everyone wants to be seen in and say that they have eaten at is the Colombe D’Or. It has original masterpieces hanging in the main restaurant and prices start from around 100 euro per head. We have had some reports that the expectation does not live up to reality
For some simple inexpensive food try The Malabar. They have a great Plat Du Jour (dish of the day), as well as lovely salads, pasta and burgers for the kids – all home made.
Prices including wine should be around 10 euro per person. As you enter St Paul through the small tunnel entrance turn immediately right and the Malabar will be found on your left just past a couple of art shops. Fabulous views from here to the coast.
Pinky and Eric, the owners, both speak English, French and Dutch
