Run by an elderly couple in the arches of Kings Road, directly on the seafront, Jack and Linda’s is remarkably quaint and in the summer months its not uncommon to see queues of people out the door, all waiting to get their hands on a hot mackerel sandwich or some fresh homemade fish soup.
Combine a visit to Jack and Linda’s with a stroll around the Brighton Fishing Museum, which is free and offers a chance to learn about the history of Brighton’s fishing community, or perhaps just stock up before having lunch on the beach.

What I can only describe as the best Italian take away in Brighton, if not the whole of Sussex. Pronto in Tavola keeps things simply with a stripped down take away menu consisting of traditional pizza, pasta salads, sides and superb deserts. Free delivery over £5 or collect your order and sit on the beach watching the sunset.
If you are only in Brighton for a few days and need a cheap eat, I cannot recommend this place enough. Try the Suppli (fried rice balls with mozzarella), Gnocchi with tomato sauce and the Italian sausages with potatoes, they are all outstanding. Not of course mentioning their daily deserts.

Brighton has a number of quality Thai restaurants however one that really stands out for me is the King & I situated at the south end of Ship street just a stones throw from the seafront.
Offering beautifully cooked and presented traditional dishes including the obvious green and red curries (which are served in terracotta warming bowls) not to mention a good selection of beers including bottles of Chang and Singha, this place is essential if you are looking for a romantic place to eat in Brighton. Except friendly attentive staff as well as a reasonable bill, however be sure to book ahead as the King and I can get busy, particularly at weekends.

Belcher's café is a typical greasy spoon located just a stones through from Western Road serving everything you would expect including full English breakfasts, mugs of tea and bacon sarnies. The décor is remarkably dated, but this only adds to the charm of the place, which is absolutely essential if you’ve had a few too many drinks the night before.
Expect to pay around £4 for the set breakfast and £6 for the ‘Big Breakfast’, however be sure to get their early, as it closes at around 1.30pm.
