Brighton Palace Pier

Brighton Palace Pier

Perhaps one of the most iconic sights of the south coast, Brighton’s Palace Pier is expensive and tacky but well worth a wander down.

Get some chips and mushy peas from the restaurant half way down, dodge the swooping seagulls and if you’ve got any money left from the arcades, have a slide down the helter skelter. Fantastic.

Strolling on Hove Seafront

To wined down after a hectic weekend of shopping and sightseeing in Brighton, head for the Hove end of the Seafront and continue walking west (away from the crumbling skeleton of the West Pier) until you pass the Meeting Place Café.

Regularly frequented by dog walkers and young families, Hove Seafront (and Hove lawns) are well recommended for a relaxing stroll and just to chill out in the sun (depending of course, on the weather!)

An organic oasis in the North Laine

Stock up on organic, local and fair-trade treats at Brighton’s Infinity foods, which is located in the heart of the North Laine. If you fancy a quick snack in between shopping the slices of cold vegetarian pizza ‘to go’ are superb.

Rounder Records Brighton

If music be the food of life, then a visit to Brighton would not be complete without visiting the small, but perfectly formed, Rounder Records. Pick up gig tickets, T-shirts from local record labels, the latest CDs and deep racks of Indie, rock and dance 12” records, or simply quiz some of the shop staff, many of whom are successful local DJs.
