If you find yourself feeling peckish in the Oxford street / Carnaby street side of town. Avoid the usual chains and the dodgy street food and head over to Leon. Located at the Liberty side of Carnaby street, Leon offers a range of tasty ‘fast food’ including Italian meatballs, chicken curries and stews along with brown rice and coleslaw. Well worth checking out in between shopping or sightseeing. Expect to pay about £5 for a main course.

Perhaps one of the most iconic sights of the south coast, Brighton’s Palace Pier is expensive and tacky but well worth a wander down.
Get some chips and mushy peas from the restaurant half way down, dodge the swooping seagulls and if you’ve got any money left from the arcades, have a slide down the helter skelter. Fantastic.

To wined down after a hectic weekend of shopping and sightseeing in Brighton, head for the Hove end of the Seafront and continue walking west (away from the crumbling skeleton of the West Pier) until you pass the Meeting Place Café.
Regularly frequented by dog walkers and young families, Hove Seafront (and Hove lawns) are well recommended for a relaxing stroll and just to chill out in the sun (depending of course, on the weather!)

Located near the train station, La Portes’s is the ideal place to grab a coffee before exploring the quaint streets and antique shops of Lewes. If you are feeling a bit peckish, be sure to have one of their superb sandwiches or wild boar sausage rolls.
La Portes’s have also signed up to the Lewes Pound scheme (www.thelewespound.org) which means you can pick up a perfect souvenir as well as an excellent latte!
