For the child in you… or the cultured adult – Carcassonne has over 3km of battlements, 2 enormous town walls and 52 towers, as you meander through it’s streets, you may like to stop off at one of the many museums. There’s the thought provoking Memorial of Former Soldiers, the museum of Chivalry, Arms and Archery, and The Museum of the Middle Ages – allow a good 2 days if you want to allow time for lunch too!
