Grasse originally became famous for tanning leather, but this all changed in the 16th when the fashion for perfumed leather gloves - made famous by Catherine de Nedici, was more lucrative. Three major perfume houses still exist in the town, Fragonard, Molinard and Galimard. You can even create your own perfume for around 40Euro if you visit Molinard's perfumery and museum. And no other woman will have the same perfume!

Nice Old Town Antiques Market

Make your way toward the port and here you will find Old Nice. Bars, restaurants, shops and Antiques. Every morning there is a large flower market in the square. Its worth having a coffee in one of the many cafes just to sit and smell the perfume!

The whole of the old town is taken up with a large antiques market on Mondays. Get there early for those bargains!

The ferry to Corsica is also very close by and its only a short trip to get there
