Fancy a night out featuring some free live jazz? Then be sure not to miss the Nice Jazz Festival, which this year takes place from the 1st to the 31st July.
Close to 50,000 people attend and listen to the live music performed on three stages within Roman amphitheatres on Cimiez hill, yet despite the numbers it never feels crowded and there is always plenty of room amongst the olive trees to mingle and stroll.
The easiest way to travel to the venue is by public bus, however further details regarding the festival can be found at: www.nicejazzfest.com

The only way to see the race is to buy a ticket and get into one of the stands around the track. Believe me if you think you might be able to see any part of the race without a ticket - forget it. They put barriers all around the track that you cannot see over. The only way is to watch it on one of the many bars and restaurants who will have a TV showing the race. Prices will be high for food and drinks

To see the most spectacular fireworks you must see the Pyrotechnic Festival held every year in Cannes. This year it will be held on July 14th, 21st and 29th and then on August 7th, 15th and 24th.
All of the displays are syncronised to music and it really is a show not to be missed if you are on the Riviera. The best place to stare up at the sky and watch the 30-45 minute show is the beach. However it can be busy, so as the displays start at 10pm, it's usually best to get on the beach by 9.30pm.
Truly spectacular.
