See the Christmas Trees in Paris

Paris is a stunning city at any time of year, but there is truly no place like the French capital during the build up to Christmas. Literally thousands of decorated trees are placed along the boulevards and around some of the city’s famous buildings. This spectacular sight serves to create a truly magical festive atmosphere.

It is fair to say that Paris goes Christmas-tree crazy once December comes around. The large roundabout at the Champs-Elysées has over 250 trees placed along the roadside, while almost 200 can be seen at the Place de la Bastille. And if you thought that was excessive, there are even trees – donated by the City of Paris - for the barges on the Seine.

But this is no recent addition to the Christmas decorations, as Paris began its love affair with fir trees way back in the 19th Century. Every single one has been grown in a special nursery in the Jura Mountains (on the French border with Switzerland), so all the celebration hasn’t come at an environmental price.

The whole city is immersed in a real enchanting ambience, and there will be nothing like catching the famous sights at such a special time of year. Paris rental apartments can be found close to the heart of the action, offering plenty of space and comfort for both families and couples, make them the perfect choice for a Christmas-themed break that everyone is sure to enjoy.
