Holiday rental scams - don't get caught out
Everyone likes to find a bargain when booking holiday accommodation, but in the spare of the moment sometimes the excitement of a bargain can cloud our judgement as to whether we're being duped into a con or whether indeed we're snapped up a genuine last minute deal.
While fantastic late deals on holiday cottages, apartments and self catering villas are frequently available, the very nature of booking holiday accommodation direct with the owners makes both holidaymakers and rental owners susceptible to exploitation from unscrupulous scammers from a variety of rental apartment scams including the common overpayment fraud.
Vigilance is, of course, vital, and here at Traveleden.com we're working hard, every day, to protect our users and holiday home owners alike from holiday accommodation scams. In the last month alone, our email enquiry filter system has detected and banned over 254 email and IP addresses from known offenders, ensuring that owners who are enjoying holiday rental advertising on Traveleden.com can do so, safe in the knowledge that we're only delivering genuine enquires.
For more information about holiday scams relating to rental accommodation, please take the time to read our comprehensive guides. Alternatively, if you would like to report a scam or share you own story with other holidaymakers, please use the comments section below.

I noticed also that your scams section, talks very briefly about some things to look out for, that may mean the enquiry is a scam, but there wasn't really anything in there about what the scammers actually do. It would be most helpful to include some information about what the scammers involved with different types of scams are trying to achieve and how they go about it.

This is a wonderful opinion. The things mentioned are unanimous and needs to be appreciated by everyone. I appreciate the concern which is been rose. The things need to be sorted out because it is about the individual but it can be with everyone.

I've been reading quite a bit about holiday home rental scammers, and it appears much of it is automated spam that appears to send out hundreds of rental scam enquiries over and over again (perhaps thousands), but thankfully (and as with a lot of email spam), as message go straight to my junk mail folder.
