Do I have to register?
Yes. The registration process is simple, however if you are an existing member of Travel Eden, either as a property advertisers or a holidaymaker who have submitted a property review, then simple use this same login. Registration is simple. Simply click here to get started.
Why should I submit Travel Tips?
Submitting Travel Tips and sharing your favourite travel experiences not only helps to provide inspiration to fellow holidaymakers when they are planning their holidays but it also helps document some of the most loved and often missed out sights.
What are tags? And how do I tag my Travel Tips?
A tag is a keyword or series of keywords assigned to each Travel Tip, which allows users to quickly and easily navigate to each Travel Tip assigned to that keyword or ‘tag'.
Adding ‘tags' to your Travel Tips is easy and the more accurate the ‘tag' the better.
If you wanted to submit a Travel Tip about your favourite restaurant in Paris, you might decide to ‘tag' it with the terms: Paris, food, eating, restaurant and French.
You can use as many tags as you like, simply separate them with commas.
What happens after I submit a Travel Tip?
To maintain the quality of Travel Tips and combat unsolicited submissions, all Travel Tips are moderated before being published on Travel Eden.
Are my Travel Tips edited?
Yes. Travel Tips may also be edited for length and style.
What do the thumbs up and thumbs down mean?
In order to encourage quality Travel Tip submissions as well as reward members who submit well-written Travel Tips, all registered members are able to vote for their favourite Travel Tips.
To submit a vote, simply click on either the thumbs up or thumbs down icon on each Travel Tip.
What makes a great Travel Tips?
That's a tough question, but generally Travel Tips should be written with the view that something could potentially use them when planning their holiday. Try to add some personal reflections in your Travel Tips, include a photograph of the establishment or one that helps to illustrate your Tip and try to include the address, contact details of website address where users can find out more information.
How long should my Travel Tips be?
Your Travel Tips can be as long or short as you like.
Can I include content from other websites in my Travel Tips?
No. Each Travel Tip submitted must be original, unique and written by you. All Travel Tips are moderated before being published and we reserve the right to remove duplicate submissions.
Can I submit a Travel Tip about my own business?
No. We're sorry but you cannot submit a Travel Tip about your own business as this conflicts with our guidelines.
Can I flag inappropriate content I find within the Travel Tips?
Yes. The Travel Eden community depends on each member to ensure that each Travel Tips is accurate and the environment is a safe and positive place. Reporting Travel Tips that violate our submission guidelines or Terms of Service helps us improve the quality of the Travel Tips.
To flag inappropriate content you find within the Travel Tips section simply select the "Flag this tip as inaccurate" link, which is located on each tip.
Can I add pictures to my Travel Tips?
Yes. You can upload two photographs to each Travel Tip you submit. The file formats we accept are .jpg, .gif and png.
Will my profile be public?
Yes. Each member of the Travel Tip community has a public profile, which documents each of the Travel Tips they have submitted. These profiles are a great way of sharing a little bit about yourself, and you can include a photo.
This profile can be updated within the Owner Dashboard area once you've logged in. If you haven't yet registered, click here to get started. However property owners who have already registered and those holidaymakers who have already posted property reviews on TravelEden can simply use the same login details.
Once logged into the Owner Dashboard, click "Edit Profile" and you'll be able to upload a photo and include a short description about yourself. Use this opportunity to tell Travel Trip members where you're from, where you've been and what type of traveler you are.
To upload a photo, click on 'Choose File' and select an image from your desktop. Please ensure you own the rights to any images you wish to use within your profile photo.
To complete your profile, click on 'Update'. Your profile will then be updated automatically.
What's the best way of using Travel Tips?
Using Travel Tips is easy; for instance, if you want to find tips on a specific destination such as London, type ‘London' into the search box and click Go. You then be presented with the search results page, which displays all of the Travel Tips relating to London.
Clicking on each Travel Tip will allow you to explore it in more detail; view photographs related to the tip and even add your own comments to it.
If, however, no Travel Tips are returned after using the search box, it might be that no Tips relating to that destination have been created, and if so, why not submit your own Travel Tips.
Clicking on any of the tags displayed on the right hand side of the main page such as history, food or drinking will take you through to a results page with all tips related to that particular tag. Interested? Click here to get started.
Can I change my email address?
No. As a security measure, you cannot change the email address you have registered your account with.
How do I verify my account?
After registering for an account, you'll automatically receive a registration verification email, to the email address you registered with. Enclosed within this email is your password and details of how to login to the Travel Eden Owner Dashboard, where you can advertise your holiday property, submit Travel Tips or post reviews of properties you have visited.
I've forgot my password. Help.
If you've forgotten your password, simply visit our password retrieval page where you'll have to enter the email address you registered with, before clicking the Retrieve button. We'll then email you your password.
How do I change my password?
To change your password, simply visit the Owner Dashboard, which is accessible after you login. From here, you will be able to change your password by clicking on the Change Password link.
How do I edit my profile?
To edit your profile, simply login to the Owner Dashboard. From here you can edit your personal details, upload a photo and write a short description about yourself.
How do I delete my account?
We'll be sad to see you go, but if you do wish to delete your account, please get in touch and we'll remove your details from our system and deactivate your account.
Does Travel Eden share or sell its member-submitted content?
No. We will never sell or rent any member-submitted content. The community is important to us, and we're commitment to creating a quality resource, which inspires users to travel independently and uncover some of the world's finest sights.
